The mounting keyholes on the back of the coat rack are spaced 14 3/4" apart. The easiest way to transfer this measurement to your wall is to cut a strip of painters tape the length of your coat rack. Then stick the tape to the back of the coat rack, covering the keyholes, and aligning the tape with the top edge of the coat rack. Next, find the keyhole heads and using a pencil poke a hole through the tape in the center of each keyhole head. Using a straight edge and level find where you want to mount your coat rack and mark a level line. Then peel the tape off the back of the coat rack and align the top edge of the tape to the line made at the mounting spot. You now have perfect guides to drill the holes for the screws to go in. "Pretty slick move huh?" If you are using the mounting hardware provided, then the material you are mounting to will determine what size drill bit you will need to use. If mounting to drywall, you will need to use a 1/4" drill bit to fit the anchor plugs. If you are mounting onto wood, you will need to use a 1/8" drill bit to drill a pilot hole. With the correct sized drill bit, drill a hole into the center of each hole you made in the tape earlier. Peel the tape off the wall. If mounting to dry wall, push the anchor plugs into the holes being careful not to bend them. You may need to tap the plugs lightly with a hammer. Next, drive the screws into the pilot holes or drywall anchor plugs leaving a 1/8" gap between the wall and the bottom of the screw head. Now, carefully align the keyhole heads on the coat rack with the screw heads. Once aligned slide the coat rack in the direction the keyhole channels go. While sliding onto the screws it should feel a little snug but should still slid on easily. Adjust the screws until proper fit is achieved! Enjoy!
First and foremost, NEVER put a wood cutting board in the dishwasher! Since these have a natural wax finish they periodically will need to be reconditioned in order to keep the wood from drying out and to help protect your board from use. To clean, rinse with warm water while wiping away debris. If some pieces of food wont come off you can use a little mild dish soap and scrub with a cloth. Then completely dry with a lint free cloth and let sit until completely dry. Note, if you wash with soap you will need recondition the wood every time you do so. You will know if it's time to recondition your board if the board grain is feeling a little rough and it's lost it's satin sheen or knife marks a easily seen. With a lint free cloth apply a layer of Bootleg Board Butter to the entire board. Let sit for 20 minutes and check to see if there are any dry spots on the board. You can see a dry spot because it won't be as shiny as the rest of the board. If you see dry spots, using the same cloth spread the already applied board butter onto the dry spots. Add more board butter if needed. Let sit another 20 minutes and with a clean lint free cloth, wipe away excess board butter and buff the board to a satin sheen. The wax in the board butter will harden as it sits after buffing so don't worry if it feels tacky. Enjoy!
